In 2021, the Mason County Historical Society was awarded a spring and fall grant from the Great Lakes Peoples Fund. Our spring grant award of $2500 provided much-needed funds to assist us with painting the Burn’s Family Farmhouse at Historic White Pine Village. We also received a fall grant award for $2500 to help the Society convert their collections database from an outdated website to Past Perfect, which provides greater ability for us to catalog and digitize our collection. Members of the Great Lakes Energy support the People Fund by voluntarily rounding up their bills to the next highest dollar. The rounded up amount is distributed to non-profit organizations and charitable activities that benefit people in the communities served by the cooperative. MCHS encourages our supporters to who are Great Lake Energy members to take part in the People Fund.
